Alice and Harris Weston*
Alice, born in Manila, Philippines, and Harris* born in Cincinnati, married in 1949, and had three children. A partner in the prestigious law firm of Dinsmore Shohl in Cincinnati, Harris was particularly active in civic and Jewish affairs. He felt his most important achievement was to merge the local Jewish fundraising and social services into the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati. Alice is an environmental artist, collector, and patron of the arts. Harris and Alice Weston have given generously to the Jewish community as well as to local arts institutions. The Weston Art Gallery is an homage to this generosity, as is the Weston’s endowment of the Avodah professional awards given to the most outstanding staff members of the Jewish Federation. The Westons’ influence on Cincinnati is virtually unparalleled.
