Susan and William Friedlander*

Bill was a Cincinnati native and second-generation philanthropist in our local Jewish community. He studied at Amherst College and, after graduating, served in the military and then attended Harvard Business School. In 1957, he and Sue returned to Cincinnati where he began his career at Bartlett and Sue served the community as an assistant librarian at Wyoming High School. Sue chaired the board of the Planned Parenthood Foundation of SW Ohio. Bill learned the importance of donating skills and resources to those in need from his parents’ example. Bill and Sue have been deeply involved in human services and arts, in particular, with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. They hope to pass on to their children and grandchildren the importance of helping those in need.
