George* and Anne Heldman
During Anne’s childhood in Westchester County, NY, she learned communal leadership from her parents who strove to assist needy Jewish families during the Great Depression. Anne met her late husband, George Heldman, during college and they soon set down roots in Cincinnati, where the Heldmans had lived for generations. George’s father, Warren, served as a mentor for the couple and inspired them to become active members of the Jewish community. The family has been active in Rockdale Temple and Wise Temple. Together with her children, Anne sponsors a college scholarship through JVS Career Services and they support the Jewish Family Service Barbash Family Vital Support Center.
